A GI system question,,,?!


Question: i had a upper and lower scope test done thursday ,i have gurg& irrable bowel, double wammy, i had to attacks in my stomach in the last 3 months, dr had a and scan of gabladder no problem there, how do they know that you have a irrable bowel, do they see it with the tube thats inserted in your colon? he said that he seen so many irrable problems on people that he could tell!!!seeing the bowels spasming, and sore lineing of it,,,he said he didnt see anything bad ,on either one,,, but he took scrapings anyways of liners of bowel and stomach,and i was a littte sore on side of stomach on the one side under ribs i dont know what i can eat anymore anyone know any web sites on them if you do please fill me in thank-you

I would stay away from acidic things like oj and salsa. At least for a day or two after the scope I'd stick to bland foods like rice, broth, lite soups. Then work in other foods. The pain you are feeling is probably from the gas they pipe in your colon so they can see. The just has to pass (no pun intended). You could keep a bland diet then add one food in at a time and see how your body reacts. With IBS, food isn't the only trigger, stress and anxiety can get it going to. For that try walking to work the stress out and stretching. It gives your body another outlet for the stress instead of your gut.
