I agree with most of the previous answers, BUT...If your partner has a cold sore(which is herpes & very contageous) & performs oral sex on you then you could contract genital herpes. There is NO cure for herpes. Keep that in mind.
Yep, cold sores are a form of oral herpes. Very contagious.
A 'cold sore' is herpes.

If you do not care about her or do not like her...........yes. Otherwise, do not let something so insignificant keep you away from someone very special.
You can get 'cold sores' or hsv1, genitally. Thereby making it genital herpes, but not changing it's type to hsv2.

a cold sore is herpes simplex, this is not genital herpes.
