I keep having Vertigo at night when I lay down....?!

Question: No, I don't drink or do drugs or smoke, and I eat healthy, etc...When I lay on my back or on my right side the room starts to spin fast, and the only way I can get it to stop is to sit up ASAP. Has anyone had these symptoms only when they lay down? Any help or idea's would be great!

I get vertigo all the time when I sit up, not when I lay down. But here are some suggestions:
First of all, the condition which is commonly called vertigo is really named Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo or just BPPV.
BPPV is characterized by when a person lies down, sits up, moves there head real fast and see's their surroundings moving..or brief 'dizzy spells'
BPPV is caused by a unbalance in the nervous system and/or your balance mechanism.

Here is what you can do to help:

Performed in your doctor's office, the canalith repositioning procedure consists of several simple maneuvers for positioning your head. The goal is to move particles from the fluid-filled semicircular canals of your inner ear (vestibular labyrinth) into a tiny bag-like structure (utricle) where these particles don't cause trouble. Each position is held for about 30 seconds. The success rate for this procedure is as high as 90 percent to 95 percent.

After the procedure, you must avoid lying flat for 24 to 48 hours and elevate your head on a few pillows when you sleep. This allows time for the particles floating in your labyrinth to settle into your utricle or be reabsorbed by the fluids in your body. You may need to wear a neck collar to prevent tilting your head. It may be necessary to repeat the procedure several times. Your doctor also may show you some therapeutic exercises that you can perform at home.

Surgical alternative
If the canalith repositioning procedure isn't effective, your doctor may recommend a surgical procedure in which a bone plug is used to block the portion of your inner ear that is causing dizziness. The plug prevents the floating particles in your ear canal from moving. This success rate for canal plugging surgery is about 90 percent. Less than 5 percent of people who undergo this procedure experience long-term hearing loss.-

HOMEMADE REMEDY FOR VERTIGO. my mother experienced the same things I did, but here =]

Mix 7 to 8 almonds with 7 to 8 kernels of pumpkin seeds, 1 teaspoon poppy seeds and 3 tablespoon wheat. Soak in water overnight.

Next morning, remove the outer skin of the almonds and grind everything together into a fine paste. Heat separately 2 teaspoon ghee and fry ? teaspoon cloves.

Add the paste to it along with some milk and boil the whole mixture.

Sweeten with sugar and drink every day for a few days for vertigo relief.

it could be a problem with your inner ear, go get it checked :)

Just an idea... Are you eating enough? I get it if I go to bed on an empty stomach.
