You should consuld a physician and/or go to the ER.

MayoClinic is good for almost any medical conditions.

I have had worse, take some aspirin.

Let the fever run its course. By the time it has reached fever status, the body is simply doing its magic and getting rid of toxins.

The most important thing is to not worry too much about it, maybe watch some funny movies that keep her distracted in a positive manner.

I'm not recommending it, but if she laughed out loud for 20 minutes straight, the fever would be gone in an hour.

Also, don't worry that she hasn't eaten. The body can go a long time without food (though be sure and keep lots of water and juice coming). And it is actually the body saying "I'm busy dealing with this infection. Please don't distract me with trying to digest things."

The best way is to drink lots of water--and I do mean a LOT. I would drink two big glasses full of water each hour and the next day, I felt MUCH better. Trust me!

A fever is a defense mechanism of your body when it is trying to fight back the bacteria or virus, so water will wash out a lot of the harmful stuff. (That's why it seems more powerful than medicine.) Peeing a lot is good.

Hope she feels better.

If you can take her to the hospital do so because a temperature of 103 can lead to convulsions can lead to something worse. If you cannot do it right now put ice in a zip up baggy, a little water so the ice cold water can mold itself around her head, place it on a small towel so she can keep it on her head longer, and place it on her head this will keep the heat from overheating her (103 is dangerous) and give her some over-the-counter medication (meds you an buy at any store) something with temperature reducer on it and without aspirin---aspirin can cause more damage if she is too young. If this does not work tell her to take a cold shower and not to cover herself but she should really be taken to the hospital because she might have some kind of infection which might need antibacterial medication. Take care.

A 19 year old can handle 103 degrees easy! She probably just has a bad cold or the flu. If it's the flu, she might have to stay down for another couple days. Some things just take time. Call the doctor if her fever gets to 104. Have her eat some chicken noodle soup and make sure she gets enough fluids. She'll be well in no time. Take tylenol for discomfort, if needed. DO NOT TAKE ASPIRIN. You don't have to bring the fever down, it will come down when she gets well. Fever helps fight the infection.
