its not cancer ( cancers dont hurt in the initial stages )...the history of painful breasts and lumps in your armpits is indicative of an infection =" mastitis" . its seen in breastfeeding mothers ( bacteria enter the breast through the blood or milk ducts ) ... dont worry , just go to a doctor and get treated . dont forget to tell him about the (painful ??)swelling under your arms .

how did i know you have an infection? answer= painful breasts , discharge and painful lumps in your armpits.these lumps are enlarged lymph nodes;they enlarge when you have an infection ( where it to be cancerous, then these lumps wouldnt hurt )..so dont worry ITS NOT cancer

hello,
if you want read something about breast cancer
i just come accross this blog which may help you

i doubt its cancer did you take any medication to stop the milk production you must see a doctor sounds like you have an infection and you can ease the pain with hot water compress.take care of this immediately and good luck.

You have mastitis. Not cancer.

The doctor will prescribe antibiotics and it does get into the breast milk.

No more caffeine or dairy products for you!

Is your urine a dark yellow instead of pale yellow?

Is your baby crying from colic?

Your not drinking enough water to create a flow to prevent infection.

Your body needs to circulate, allow it to circulate by drinking enough water and eat fresh to help your immune system clean up the infection.

Take walks with a baby carrier like a baby bjorn and it stops baby's gas pain and helps you get your blood circulating to eleviate your problem.

It is not cancer. Sounds like a breast infection-Mastitis or a milk duct infection/blockage. Definitely, find another physician who will listen to you. It is not o.k. to be in continual pain. Get seen and treated by another MD soon.

This is highly unlikely to be cancer, although it could be a remote possibility.

It is almost guaranteed to be mastitis, which is an infection.

The infection causes pain, cancer rarely does.

The infection causes swollen lymph nodes, cancer only does this after spreading.

What you are experiencing is not "normal", it needs treatment. Don't put up with a Dr that fobs you off with "normal, put up with it", see another Dr.

Looking after a 5 month old is exhausting and stressfull enough without inconsiderate Dr's ignoring real health issues!

Look at the above link from Yahoo health for treatment info. It says you can and should continue to breast feed. I remember when this happened to me while I was breast feeding. my doctor may or may not have given me antibiotics(I don't remember them) I do remember, however, that I used warm compresses on my breasts and nursed more than usual. Even when the baby was sleeping, I took out the breast pump and pumped my breasts. All those things help unclog the ducts and get rid of the pain although it was painful to nurse and pump, it did feel better afterward.
I know I did NOT stop nursing.

It's time for you to see another doctor. Even if there is nothing wrong no doctor should just shrug off your concerns. They should at least take the time to explain what you are experiencing and tell you what you need to do.
