How is how blood pressure caused and how can it be prevented?!

Question: When youre body isnt able to break down the fats that you are eating they are released throughout your body. So the cholesterol gets absorbed through the walls of your vessels and flows through your body. As the cholesterol flows throughout your vessels it will reach your arterioles. Theses are very tiny vessels that dont really allow many things to pass by other than blood because there diameter is so small. Now when cholesterol (fat) starts building up in the vessels it narrows the space the blood has to travel.

Since the vessel is now smaller in diameter than it already was, blood going through has to excert more pressure just to get through that spot and reach the heart. That is how High blood pressure begins.

To prevent this try not eating food that is high in fat ( the bad cholesterol). It will build up in your arteries and lead you to high blood pressure and other things as well that can be more serious.

???? Did you mean to say "low" blood pressure?

You will have to define low. Blood pressure that is truly lower than normal is called hypotension. Your idea of hypotension may not be the same as mine. What is your perception of abnormally low blood pressure???

Hypotension can be caused by many things, such as the effects of some medications, heart failure, Parkinson's and alcohol. Hypotension can be postural (also called orthostatic) and occurs when body position is suddenly changed and/or by standing for long periods of time. It can be neurologic, can be due to stroke, shock, loss of blood, dehydration, neuropathy, MI (heart attack) diabetes and syncope (fainting).

If you meant to say "high" blood pressure, this is hypertension. There are essentially two kinds of abnormally high blood pressure: essential or primary, also called idiopathic and secondary. Primary hypertension (idiopathic) has no known cause. Secondary, the more common, is due to hereditary factors, diet/weight/exercise/lifestyle and/or a previously existing disease condition.

To manage or prevent hypertension depends on the factors that predispose one to it or are causing it. Heredity can't be controlled. One can only manage the hypertension. When heredity isn't a factor, changes can be made to one's diet, weight, exercise habits and lifestyle. If these changes aren't effective, an antihypertensive medication is added. If hypertension is secondary to an existing condition, such as diabetes mellitus, managing the condition effectively usually controls the hypertension.

How, or even IF, hypotension or hypertension can be prevented depends on the cause. Please clarify which one you're asking about then focus on a cause and ask your question again.

Thanks for the clarification!
