Can you get STD's from tongue kissing? My friend ask me that and I don't!

Question: She asked me that and it had me wondering? I heard some things...but I'm not sure to believe them...what do you all think?

Only if the disease is actually in their mouth already.

Most common STDs are very localised - they don't just travel by themselves from the genitals to the mouth. However they can be transmitted there through oral sex.

If someone has an STD, but it's not in their mouth, then you won't get it through kissing.

The exception to this is herpes simplex (cold sores). These are highly infectious and easy to pass on through kissing if one partner has a sore on their lips, but then it still comes back to my first point - their mouth is obviously already infected, and it's not really an "STD" in the same sense as many of the others are.

Herpes~

GONEARHEA

herpes. and syphills

Herpes Simplex 1 (which is cold sores)
you could also get mono from kissing but that isn't an STD

Yes you certainly can. Herpes, syphillis etc... It has a lot to do with open sores.

NO, STD stands for: sexually transmitted disease... kissing is not that. You can however get menengitis, viruses, warts, and herpes... (not the genital kind, but still quite irritating)

I'm not a doctor but i definitely dont think so. Only herpes of the mouth (mouth sores, fever blisters, etc.) But i wouldn't categorize those as an STD.

As far as I know, no way! STD's are Sexually Transmitted Diseases, if there is no sex there can be no STD's, unless it was passed from mother to baby in the womb. Just tell her no. unless they were kissing each others genitals.... and even then I don't think it can happenm and even if STD's can be moved that way it's only certain ones

yes

yeah you could get herpes of the mouth but you cant get anything down yonder
haha

You can get cold sores, or other mouth sores, but other then that, no. STD stands for Sexually Transmitted Disease. No sex = no std!
