How do Drs remove a stint placed after kidney stone removal surgery?!

They just pull it out...and it shouldn't hurt. I have had stents removed under anesthesia most times due to complications...once the Doctor tried to remove it in the office and there was calcification on the outside of it...talk about ouch. But many people can remove it themselves with the string.
