STD, HIV testing question...??!

Question: I had unprotected for the first time in my life on January 25th, and i want to get tested for STds and HIV. But i dont know how much time can i wait before getting tested. Its been a couple of weeks since i had intercourse but i want to get tested for my own peace of mind. My partner told me he was clean, but nowadays i can't trust anyone. It was a very huge mistake...and im a bit nervous. So can anyone enlighten me..rewarding this issue? can i get tested now..or whats the recommended period before getting tested before getting accurate results. Thanks in advance

You can test at 3 months but onlu 99% acurate. At 6 months it will give you 100% acurate reading. The waiting is the hardest part. Info available from the Center for Disease Control (CDC)

yes. find confidential testing sites in your area.

get tested as soon as possible.

you should get tested straight away, most STD's show up straight away in tests and a doctor can identify some STD's/STI's just by looking. HIV takes a few weeks to become present in your blood so i dont know if it can be seen in your blood at this time. maybe you should get checked in a few weeks ASWELL as now?? ask the doc about HIV testing while youre there. good luck =]

Well, you should go ahead and get tested, but STDs/HIV may not show up for months or even years so you will need to continue getting tested regularly.

Yes you can get tested now, BUT with HIV testing there is a 3 month window period, your first test is what we call a base line test. Then retest in 3 months to get an accurate test result.
BUT for the three month you will need to use condom for any penetrative sex. oral- not such a big deal.
