Hot tub use ok?!

Question: Why do hot tub warning signs say not to use if you have heart problems or are on anticoagulants? I have a heart problem and will soon be on anticoagulants and was just wondering what will happen if I get in the hot tub. I got in tonight but only stayed in for about 4 minutes and yes it did make me feel light headed and have some palpatations. But the good feelings far outweighed the bad. But my question is why? What makes this happen?

The hot water dilates the blood vessels of the skin, in other words they can handle a greater volume of blood. You only have so much blood, so your blood pressure will decrease with the greater volume to fill which could cause arhytmias and drowsiness. Anticoagulants, antihistamines, and tranquilizers can cause drowsiness in hot water which can cause you to fall asleep and possibly drown.
