What is mold and what effect it on individuals health?!

Question: how it come and where it is found

Answers: how it come and where it is found

There are so many different types of mold it would be impossible to name them all. Mold is found everywhere but antarctica, I believe. It's a fungi, its spores live in the air all around us and we are constantly breathing them in all the time. For a person with a normal immune system, there really is no effect. It can exacerbate the symptoms of asthma, COPD, emphysema and other pulmonary disorders. It can also cause SERIOUS effects in those who are immunocompromised ( like aids patients or people going through radiation). In people like this it can actually cause serious infections in the lungs and or brain and kill the person. you can also have an allergy to it. On a good note though, mold has made it's mark on the medical field. I forget what year it was, but Alexander Fleming (actually his colleague) discovered that mold releases toxins that destroy some of the most common bacteria. After realizing this, he created penicillan... the first antibiotic and death from infection was drastically reduced. Penicillan has saved so many lives over the years, and continues to do so daily. Unfortunately, because of over and misuse, lots of microorganisms are now resistant to penicillan and its many forms.

mold is a fungi---mostly found in phlyum oomycota..here are some more definite definitions...

Moulds (or molds, see spelling differences) include all species of microscopic fungi that grow in the form of multicellular filaments, called hyphae.[1] In contrast, microscopic fungi that grow as single cells are called yeasts. A connected network of these tubular branching hyphae has multiple, genetically identical nuclei and is considered a single organism, referred to as a colony or in more technical terms a mycelium.

Molds do not form a specific taxonomic or phylogenetic grouping, but can be found in the divisions Zygomycota, Deuteromycota and Ascomycota. Although some molds cause disease or food spoilage, others are useful for their role in biodegradation or in the production of various foods, beverages, antibiotics and enzymes.

Depending on how much exposure you have with toxic mold and what kind of toxic mold it is can cause very serious health affects that may not go away for months or years. Chronic fatigue, flu/cold like symptoms that do not go away, breathing and lung problems, headaches, memory loss, etc.

Just think! whatever mold gets a hold of veggies, wood, ceiling tiles, etc it will try to decompose and eat through it, just image what mold will do if it's inside of your body?

Toxic mold is serious business.
