More than likely, yes. It could be to pet dander...many people don't realize that the "pet dander" allergen is actually in the saliva of the animal. It is transferred to their skin and fur when they groom themselves and then you pet them, cuddle them, play with them, etc. and get microscopic bits of their dead skin or very fine bits of fur in your eyes, nose, and mouth. As gross as that sounds, you have to realize that almost all mammals are constantly shedding skin cells - in fact, dead skin cells make up around 70% of your househould dust - yum!

You may also have an allergy to cedar, which lines the cages of many peoples' pet rabbits, hamsters, and guinea pigs. You don't often meet people who are allergic to hamsters, per se, but many people, myself included, have allergies to cedar. When we discovered this, I was a kid and had a hamster, so we just stopped using cedar chips to line her cage, substituting a different "allergen free" material.

To help relieve your symptoms, you might try Benadryl (it'll make you drowsy, but it works SO well) or some other antihistamine, and maybe drop some Visene allergy into your eyes as needed. That said, I am not a doctor and can not possibly know about your medical history, current health, other medications you may be taking, and all of that good stuff, so here is my "don't-sue-me-if-you-die" disclaimer: Always check with your doctor before taking any prescription or non-prescription medications, and follow the dosage instructions on the medication packaging.

Oh and for the record, if your allergies are that bad, you might consider visiting a specialist to have a "scratch test" done. The test is annoyingly itchy for a little bit, but not particularly painful, and can identify specifically what you are allergic to. I had one done when I was young and started on weekly allergy shots, which also are not terribly painful (they're not a muscle shot, so they don't make you sore like flue shots, MMRs, tetanus, etc.) and can really do wonders for your quality of life. I took them for about a year, and now I rarely have problems with allergies.

Good luck!!

yea. sorry most likely. most allergy meds help that. if you don't think so you could go to your doctor or something.

most likely....you should go to the doctor....if you were wheezing you might could have asthma/allergie enduced

If your condition hasn't worsened and doesn't worsen over night then you could go to your local pharmacy and seek advice from the pharmacist or counter assistant in the morning They will ask a few questions about your health and advise you on the best medication to suit you should any be needed.

If you are still wheezing or still worried about your condition then you should go to see your doctor.

yea im allergic to bunnies too...its a shame their so cute
