Is it uncommon to get age spots on your face?!

Question: Age spots are very very common. It's the pigments in you skin reaction to the enviroment and hormones.

It's more common in women with children or people who have sun exposure.

If it really bothers you, they can laser it off. But it's definately not a health risk of any sort.

yeah

Sounds like it could be infected.

It's probably just sun damage... I have colored blothes on my face that get worse in the summer and pretty much fade when I'm not in the sun - I'm 39.

Yes but usually they begin on your hands and arms

The reason you get age spots is because of the sun. You need to wear sunblock all the time. The sun also gives you wrinkles.

Don't worry, your derm. will have ways of fixing this but it's not cheap.

My mom and grandma have them really bad, so I really try to combat with sunscreen so I don't get like that.

I don't think it's uncommon, especially if you tanned in the past.......I think that along with hormones causes them to come on. Good news is they should fade though if you stay out of the sun and use a good moisturizer every day that includes alpha hydroxy acids (like Alpha Hydrox)!

Seborrheic keratoses are common as people get older. They can be black, heaped up, irregular and pretty ugly. They are however absolutely nothing to worry about other than from a cosmetic viewpoint.

If the spot is rapidly enlarging, deeply pigmented, very irregular or breaking down or ulcerating it is always better to have it looked at. Sometimes it can be very difficult to tell and a biopsy may be the only way to be sure.
