Zomig & Pre-Migraine Auras?!

Question: Does anyone have any experience with pre-migraine auras? Do you know if taking Zomig once the aura is noticed is a good idea? If so, would it prevent the migraine altogether?

(Yes, I know, I should be talking to a doctor about this, but wanted some average migraine-sufferers advice first.)

Yes, medical advice is most reliable via medical personnel, no doubt. However, I can answer your question based upon actual experience~ I use Zomig (via perscription) & I can attest to the fact that taking Zomig upon first indication of the onset of migraine headaches is exactly 'why' the medication is perscribed for you. Taking the Zomig when you are keenly aware of a possible migraine is a smart choice without a doubt. In fact, I learned the hard way, by thinking 'maybe' I could do without the Zomig even though I was well aware of an oncoming migraine....this my doctors informed me is NOT the reason Zomig was perscribed for me, the Zomig was intended to be used at the first indication of migraine possiblity. Those who really experience Migraines always know when a migraine headache is imminent versus the onset of a headche of lesser degree... I empathize with you knowing you suffer from migraines as I have for many years. Take the Zomig...treat your signs & symptoms and you may alleviate the suffering of a migraine. Take care~ Oh & by the way...JFYI, I have also learned that taking 'FEVERFEW' on a regular basis can help eliminate the onset of repetitive headaches...FEVERFEW is now part of my daily regime. You may want to check into this fact, it could be beneficial for you as well. Visit www.webmd.com & learn more about migrained & treatment of them. Always consult your physician if ever in doubt or of concern~ Take care~

First, are you taking any other medications? Taking your migraine meds in conjunction with other meds can either contribute to the further development of the migraine or prevent your med from working properly...and yes a Drs. advice is always worth asking for (its also great if they are prompt in their response!!) I take my migraine med upon my first tickling sensation and it will wipe out the migraine completely, however if I have taken any other supplements or other meds, they can contribute to the lessened affectiveness of my migraine med-so check what you're taking along side the Zomig.
