Question: I have tried Cetaphil for oily skin and washing my face twice a day, but it's soo greasy looking!!
And for shampoos I have tried Pantene clarifiying & Nioxin..they aren't working!

Anyone know any home remedies or good shampoos for oily scalp/skin? I've had this problem for a month now.

I have extremely oily skin, and hair. Been that way for 10 years. My dermatologist put me on Accutane twice, which helped tremendously. It works on your oil glands by shriveling them up, thus less oil production. I still have oily skin & hair though, just not as bad. I will tell you, using a shampoo that is "clarifying", like Pantene clarifying shampoo, which is usually a clear colored shampoo, is the best to use on oily hair. Because a regular shampoo will not get all the oil out, it will leave build up behind, you want a shampoo that is a daily build up remover. As far as your skin, I have found using Dial antibacterial soap as the best, but its certainly not going to make your skin less oily, it will just keep it really clean. There isnt really many options for oily skin as far as lessening oil production that arent prescribed by your doctor.

applying amla juice is said to help oily scalp...for oily skin try Clean and Clear face wash

i don't know what Cetaphil is... but i too have oily skin and hair. i don't wash my face twice a day.. overwashing can really ruin skin. i use only shampoo( no conditioner) like just Suave brand or Herbal Essences Drama Clean shampoo. (which works amazing! and it smells good.) when my hair is done drying i add a little smothing stuff at the ends to help it out. i wash my face w/ Noxema facial cleanser, and use masks ( there are plenty of inexpensive masks out there that help dry out pores.)about every two days. hope this helped! good luck! :p

~*My hair will get oily in three days if I wash it with conditioner...so i can only wash it woth shampoo.....

Tea tree oil shampoo, but if you use it every day your hair might become too dry.
