Why cant you catch chicken pox twice????!

Question: If your immune system isn't compromised, you can't catch chicken pox twice because it is a specific variant of a type of virus.
Once you have fought a virus variant and overcome it, you will have developed specific anti-bodies to this variant and these will fight and more easily kill it next time you are exposed.

You will always be more likely to suffer from another variant of the same virus once you have been infected by it.

If you are healthy, you will have anti-bodies in your system for every food you have ever eaten and everything you have ever touched, breathed in or, in any other way, come into contact with.

It is not likely because if you've had it once you should be immune to it, but I'm not saying it's not possible. Don't worry to much about it though.

our bodies are great works of God
it makes us build up defenses to things
we have germs on us right now
we dont get the illness because are bodies attack it for us
isnt that great how we are made?

because your body grows an immunity to the virus/bacteria that causes chicken pox. the receptors are blocked/or deleted so that the virus/bacteria doesn't affect the host cells.

You CAN get chicken pox twice or more in some rare instances. Most people who had them twice, had a mild case of them the first time.

When you get chicken pox, your body produces antibodies, which then should provide immunity to them in the future. Just know that this is not always the case though.

our body's immune system gets stronger after our 1st chicken pox
so it knws how to prevent you from getting it again.

as with ANY virus, you CAN get it again. Viruses are not cured, they simply go dormant and can reactivate at any time!
chicken pox as a kid is chicken pox.
shingles as an adult is a form of chicken pox.
herpes, ie, cold sores are a form
herpes, ie, genital rash is another.

all forms are residing along with yellow and dengue fevers, mono (ebv) and hcv under the family flavivoradae.

Chickenpox is an infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus, one of the herpes viruses. 'Varicella' refers to the initial infection commonly known as chickenpox and 'zoster' refers to its reactivation in later life, causing the condition shingles. Normally chickenpox does not strike twice
