The number one dietary contributor for cholesterol is red meat. It's totally unecessary to your diet. Instead of beef, substitute for chicken. Ground turkey makes an awesome substitute for ground beef. turkey tacos, turkey chilli, turkey burgers.... Delicious! Dairy is also another culprit. Switch to skim milk, and limit dairy products. Instead, obtain calcium form other sources, like green leafy veggies. Increase your fiber intake too. We should be getting between 25 and 30 grams of fiber a day. Most people only get about 10. Some easy ways to increase your fiber intake is to buy whole wheat products instead of white ones. Whole wheat bread and whole wheat pasta are two great ones. Beans are also high in fiber and protein. try to use them in every meal. Exercise encourages weightloss, which also lowers cholesterol. Even losing 10 lbs. can make a difference.

Although a big part of cholestrol is genetic, you can help by cutting down on high cholestrol food (e.g. dairy, fatty meat, eggs, crustacean seafood etc) and substitute them with vegies, fruits and lean meat. Also try out cholestrol reducing foods e.g. quaker's oatmeal. Last but not least, hit the treadmill (or other cardio-based exercises)

To lower "bad cholsterol": Try eating a bowl of oatmeal every day. It is very filling, has lots of fiber and it can significantly low cholesterol if you're consistent about it. Try adding a little brown sugar and low fat milk. If you eat a lot of shrimp, cut back. It increases your cholesterol. Also eat foods that increase your "good" cholsterol such as almonds and avocados.

Eat healthily there is a lot of products out there to help lower cholesterol but they can be expensive, i went to my doctors with the same problem and he prescribed me tablets to help lower mine.

eat lot of fruits.
avoid oily foods.
take vegetable soups
perform some exercise

take care...get well soon

Exercise!!!

1.Oatmeal
2.Walnuts, almonds
3.Fish and omega-3 fatty acids
4.Cut fats first

if you'd like to reduce your cholesterol, only by reducing it, not the quantity of the food you consume, then you should start replacing some products with others, porrer in LDL(cholesterol). for this, start with replacing grill and barbequed meat with soybeans and mushrooms
avoid chips, fried poatatoes rich in vegetable oils and replace them with cooked potatotoes, purees and other cooked, not fried potatoes.
increase the liquids to 1.7 - 2 litres a day, juices, water,
start some simple daily(!) exercises of less than 30 minutes - it will increase the pulse rate and improve your heartbeat. this can be anything - playing, dancing, jogging, jumping, stairs,,,
i think this was helpful, of course there are plenty of good advices, I will write soon more about this on my site
stay healthy!

write down a list of foods with no cholesterol's? I am sure there is a lot more than we care to notice, or don't like the taste. I am sure a non cholesterol diet is possible. Is it?
just a suggestion. You never know until you look, you just might be able to make a meal of it.

I have been diagnosed with same problem recently along with High blood pressure. I have altered my eating somewhat with low fat/low sodium diet and prescribed medication. I spoke with my doctor about the DASH diet and he did agree was good to follow. I can relate to feeling like I am starving at times, but I have found fresh veggie snacks and almonds, walnuts do help. Oatmeal is a must for breakfast. Gives a full feeling. I have lost 15 lbs and feel much better. Hopefully, in 3 months blood results will be better and maybe lower medication . That is definitely a goal. The link is:http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/public/h... and the whole website is worth looking at.
Amazing when we encounter health issues how much is on the interenet. Hope this helps.
