Latex Allergy???!
Question: i dont know if i have a latex allergy....
when i was blowing up latex balloons my throat felt like it was closing, and when i was babysitting i changed the kids diaper and got hives like 5 minutes later (theres latex in diapers), its hard to tell what else i react to bc i get hives just about everyday from all my allergies, so im only aware of those two occasions.
i got a blood test and it was negative for latex allergy, but my mom has a latex allergy and her first test was negative.
does that sound like a latex allergy???

sure sounds like one to me. You could always just rub some latex on your stomach and see what happens.
it sure does
ever have sex with a latex condom?
what was the reaction?
it could be..but i mean there are a million otehr things it could be....
Do condoms make yer lips swell?
to me it sounds like you might have a latex allergy, exspecially with the throat tightening when blowing up a balloon.
There could be lots of things that you're reacting to. Latex allergies aren't all that common among the general population -- it's usually among people with a certain illness, or among health-care workers... but it does sound like you're having a reaction to something.
Go see in immunologist, instead of a family doctor -- the immunologist will be able to do more conclusive testing to determine your allergies.
yeah it does sound like a latex allergy, but then it could be an allergy to anything. I would try not to expose yourself to latex as much as possible because the more exposure you have the more likely you will be to have a severe anaphylactic reaction. also i have learned (the hard way) that just because a blood test comes out negative doesn't mean you don't have an allergy. they are not 100% reliable. if you are sexually active and have used a latex condom then you will know if you have an allergy.
