Yes, antacids interact with many medications by chelating them. I suggest that you check with your pharmacist before taking the antacid. Additionally, antacids are not a great solution to heartburn that is frequent since they can lead to kidney stones. Be warned - the pain of a kidney stone is comparable to delivery of a child. Its not something you want.
Figure out if you are going to use it every so often or for a long time.
Find out how long it takes to start working.
Also read the label and see if your supposede to take it before meals or after. Some brands only work if taken before a meal.
I currently take prilosec because I have to take it daily and I take it at night before I go to bed, but if you only need it every so often I recommend Zantac.
