Is there anything I can try to help relieve a dry mouth?!

Question: I have been prescribed Fluoxetine, a very low dose, but I am getting the side effect of dry mouth, not helped by getting over a cold so still have a bit of a blocked nose and breathing through my mouth. Other than keep drinking gallons of water do you have any suggestions?

Suck on something.

Suck on a piece of hard candy. That might help for a while.

Suck ice cubes, it really works!

talk to your dentist.or a pharmacist.

Biotene makes different dental products (mouthwash, toothpaste, etc) to help with dry mouth (ask your dentist). Also, gum can help, try Ice Breakers Cubes, they have xorbitol in which promotes saliva flow. Talk to your dentist or doctor about other remedies.

Why don't you try hard candies....if you're worried about all the sugar intake, then try surgar free...jolly ranchers is a very good choice....hope this helped....
