You can consult your doctor and tell him/her to prescribe Atrovent (ipratropium) for you. Atrovent won't cause too much palpitations (unless you have exceeded the recommended dosage) but will be slightly more expensive than ventolin. Ventolin won't cause much palpitation if you are on 200mg.. If you have taken more than 200mg, then you might get a faster heart rate.

I have been put on the nebuliser and after that, when i was sleeping, i can feel my heart beating so loud, so fast and the bed is shaking (of course, i am making the bed shake due to my heart palpitation).. I have ranted and complained to the doctor and he refused to do anything, so i started to kick up a fuss in his office and he prescribed Atrovent (nebuliser route) for me and also keep me on my salbutamol inhaler only..

EDIT: REMINDER!!!
Atrovent will not work as fast as ventolin during an asthma attack..

P.S. All asthma medications will make your heart race in a way or another.

maybe your doctor prescribed a higher dose more than your body can handle.

call your doctors office on Monday & see if you get a lower dose

or

make an appointment to get things adjusted

This is a vicious cycle and needs to be controlled ASAP

Please seek the attention of your medical doctor to prevent residual damage to your body and its parts
