What does it mean when you one side of your body goes numb and tingly only for a!

Question: Does it happen all the time? Do you experience any severe migranes? If so, I think you should talk to your dr. Otherwise, it could be a pinched nerve. Try to get up and move about througout your day, keep a log/journal of when you notice it occuring. Write down what you were doing at the time, what you at previously, and how long it lasts for. This kind of information can help later on if it persists.

I hope this helps! Best of Luck!

It can mean a TIA or transient ischemic attack. Often this is a precursor to a stroke. It needs to be checked out by a physician to determine the cause. Often a stroke can be prevented if the person goes to the doctor when they first have TIA. Unfortunately, since it goes away people think they are ok.

If it's a one time thing, it might be nothing to worry about. It sounds similar to when you lay on your side and your leg or arm "goes to sleep". The reason for the sensation is that there is a lack of blood flow to those areas. If you were resting on that side of your body, it could happen.

I would be more comfortable with you seeing a doctor. Even resting on one side, usually only the extremities (arms and legs) feel that way, not a whole side. This could be a cardiovascular (blood vessels) problem, or even a neurological problem. Both of these are NOTHING to be taken lightly.
