given time AND abstinence from alcohol, liver functions can restore themselves to virtually normal. there may be some sort of scarring left as a result of excessive boozing, but the functions will be fine.

not sure about the timeline, but the liver does regenerate itself. Giving up drinking certainly can't hurt you, give it a shot and good luck

i think drinking alot of water and healthy eating will help speed it up, can take a long time for the liver to heal depending on the damage....times a healer lol and detoxing your entire body flushing it out we water...i am gonna have to do it someday, i drink every weekend ha ha

im not sure but there must be loads and loads of info about it on the net....why not look it up? I think it depends how much you have been drinking and for how many months/yrs.

It will never be 'normal' again, although they should still be able to lead a good life if they give up the alcohol. Liver damage can be permanent if left too long. At this stage the only thing that will totally rectify the damage is a liver transplant.

It depends on how much damage has been done to the liver, and for how long you have been drinking. But you should see an immediate change in how you feel once you stop drinking. The same thing happened to a friend of mine, to the point were he had constant pain in his abdomen, caused by an enlarged liver. He quit drinking and within two weeks felt better and had regained his appetite, and within a month the doctor told him his liver was back to normal.
I'm sure that's not always the case, but that's my personal experience.

if your young maybe not long maybe a few years my livers enlarged and im 60yo so i dont know about my problem try know your source on this page
