Cellulitus?!

Question: I get reoccurring bouts of Cellulitus and it's hellish. My face and my neck swells and it feels and looks like a scald. It is hot itchy and extremly uncomfortable and when I get cellulitus I feel ill. (Please don't confuse this with celulite, it's not related). I think that this developed after I had cosmetic surgery. I had a sore behind my ear which failed to heal. I have had several outbreaks and the last one was less severe, however I look and feel dreadful for about a month and then it subsides.

Antibiotics did not help, however I had releaf from the symptoms with homeopathy, unfortunately this was limited. My face and neck is now covered in red blotches and feels like leather and this is a minor attack. Please can anyone offer a solution

Cellulitis is an infection of the skin. It's caused by something getting into the skin causing a route for infection and can only be cured by antibiotics. You didnt mention how long ago you had surgery, but recurrent cellulitis is NOT normal. Especially on the neck/face area it's almost unheard of! Is it possible something was left inside your surgical wound, for example a stitch? I strongly suggest you go to the doctor and find out why you're getting recurrent cellulitis. If antibiotics dont seem to work for you, there are tonnes of different ones you should try, more aggressive treatment may be needed to keep the organism at bay. You can always pop into hospital for an overnight dose of IV antibiotics which are much more effective and will clear it up for good.

Oh God!!! If antibiotics don't help, I don't know what to suggest!!! My mom had cellultis (a really bad case) on her leg a few months before she died. (not to sound discouraging or anything...)

Are you diabetic??? Chronic cellulitis is a symptom of poorly controlled diabetes and insulin.
Are you overweight? Do you have poorly controlled sugar?
We generally say that if you can control the sugar, lots of these skin afflictions tend to get a little better.
My heart goes out to you.
