A couple questions about herpes.?!

Question: If someone has herpes, is it true that the first outbreak is the worst? is it possible that someone could never even know that they have herpes? do the symptoms taper down over time? Is it possible to have one outbreak and never have another again or until way later down the road. What exactly happens.

It has been said that the first outbreak is the worst. They also say that during the first year, the outbreaks are more frequent. I've heard of rare cases where the person only has one outbreak and never has another, but they still have herpes and can pass it on to another person. It's possible to not know you have the herpes virus too because sometimes it can lie dormant in a person and they don't get that first outbreak for quite sometime or they overlook it when it happens because eventually it goes away.

Lauren is 100% correct.
Stress can make it worse.
Oh, and eventually the pain of the herpesvirus would make you seek out medical attention. I have had patients say it is like a cigarette burn down there.
Basically, if the person who gave it to you said, "Yes, I have herpes, but I didn't know I had it"--I wouldn't believe that person. Unless they had unprotected sex with the person that infected them and then had sex with you the next day.

herpes is not as bad as it is made out to be. There is about a 4% chance that you can get herpes from a person who is not having an outbreak. Also people can go months without having an outbreak an even though it's not likely some people can go years without even knowing they have it because of lack of outbreaks. I'm not sure if the first one is the worst but i know the amount and size of outbreaks is dependent on the stage or level of herpes.

well there are several types so that makes i diffrence, but lauren anwser is great for the most common one in gentintal area, hope this adds help w/hers.
big hugs baby
