My 9 year old Chihuahua keeps falling over!?!

Question: I take him back to the vet on thursday, but might be taking him back before then. He will hunch his neck up and screams when I touch his neck or pick him up. It comes and goes, one minute he's fine then it happens again. He is on steroids and muscle relaxers (they want to rule out a pulled muscle). Now he has started falling over and his front right paw will buckle and his leg comes out from under him. They say it could be a ruptured disc, brain tumor, or possibly cancer. Has anyone heard of anything similar or have any other suggestions. He is my everything and I just want to make sure I try everything-it's breaking my heart to watch this! He already has seizures and is on heart medication.

awww i am so sorry to hear about your puppy. i wish you 2 the best. i hope he will pull through, and they can fix him. 9 is still young.....i had a dog last 16 years. good luck hun

put him to sleep sorry but its better than having him tortuered with the pain

the end is near

You should put him to sleep, but im sure he had a graet life bu t right now i thiink hes suffering

Put him to sleep. he doesn't need to suffer

all that same stuff was happening to my moms chihuahua and it was not good. It could be a tumor but it could also simply be an inner ear infection. have the dr. check that before you get all worrried about cancer and tumors. unfortunatly that is what it was with my moms dog plus she was blind in both eyes. she was a bit older than 9 and had to be put to sleep right before christmas. her dog was also not you average dog she was like a teacup, she could fit in a mug. so surgery was pretty much out of the question.

If You loved him that much then dont make him suffer and put him to sleep it doesnt sound like hes going to recover so do the right thing for him

I think he's got to many problems...( sort of like me ) anyway's I would say the best thing to do it have him put down. It doesn't sound like he has any chance of recovery from all the symptoms...sorry?

Hello, AAAHHH...POOR BABY...NOT YOU... THE CHIHUAHUA...It is NEVER easy watching our "BABIES" become ill or hurt...It sounds to me like he is in PAIN...I would say a nerve problem and yes could be from the spine...but that would only happen through some type of genetic problem or injury type of a thing...I would NOT wait till thur...to long...ER. VET...If you have the funds...you can keep him "comfortable"....He is 9...and hard for us to put them out of their misery...and if you decide to do something like that...IT IS A HARD DECISION....Just remember that whatever you do....DO IT FOR HIM.....NOT YOU!! PRAY!! GOD BLESS!! Mary
