What are causes to bleeding ulcers in the stomach?!

Question: Miss Mary is 100% correct. We now know that it is a bacteria in the lining of the gut that causes ulcers. You need an antibiotic from your doctor. They bleed only because the lining is being worn away by the bacteria.

P.S. There is already acid INSIDE your gut--that is what helps you to digest food. It is extremely strong acid. The human stomach can withstand all the strong acid inside your gut. It is the H. pylori bacteria that causes ulcers.

BACTERIA:
Gets in the stomach the way everything else does. You ate it. Of course, you had no idea at the time that you did, but you did. It could have been on that banana you ate last week, or on a the lettuce at the salad bar. Who knows.

Tweety is right. I've had lots of elderly patients who took waaaaay too much aspirin and got an ulcer. But i have never had a patient with gastric CA have ulcers. Now, I've seen some fistulas, but not ulcers.

the h. pylori bacteria is a reason one would get an ulcer, and it can be easily detected in a blood test

too much acid. theres a mucus-like lining on the inside of your stomach to protect it, and when you eat/drink to much acidic stuff, it wears away the lining and causes ulcers...

hope it helps

Ulcers in the stomach are called peptic ulcers. A number of things can cause a peptic ulcer to bleed: Lack of treatment before the ulcer has reached the bleeding stage, tumors, gastric cancer, fungal or bacterial infection (H. pylori), alcohol, aspirin overuse, NSAIDs and a stress ulcer gone bad.
