Mom's feeling sick.?!
Question: Hey all, I'm kinda worried about my mom. She has type 2 diabetes, doesn't take Insulin or anything. She's on some pills for having high cholesterol, too. Alls been well but within the past week or so, she has been really weak, she's unable to work, or do anything without getting extremely tired. Her back is sore in several different places and sometimes has spasms. She takes all her pills when shes supposed to and everything. She went to the doctor and he gave her some other pills that were supposed to help but now her blood sugar levels are up to 20. She's going to the doctor tomorrow,but I'm just really wondering if she's okay and if anybody knows whats wrong? Also, shes on Robaxacet (the back medicine) (Spelling?) and it is helping her back, but since she took it, other things seem to be getting worse. Thanks in advance, Jon. =]

bg's of 20 and medicine that doesn't seem to be working are a lot of warning signals of complications. with the high cholesterol and pain medicine, she's likely to run into heart complications, so you might want to ask about that.
she's not on insulin, but you should try to get her bg down, and if she's weak and can't excercise, try to keep her drinking water. not juice, not soda, just water.
you're a good son to take care of your mother.
She needs to go back to the doc asap, for now make sure she eats something thats very important in keeping her blood sugar level.
Your mom needs to inform her doctor of any new symptoms arising from her current medication. That should be resolved by the physician tomorrow when she sees her physician.
Ur mom needs immediate attention of doctor, make that sure.
Cholesterol medicine can have the side effect symptoms you are describing, relating to joint and muscle pain.
The other symptoms may be high blood pressure.
Your a sweet son. I think many symptoms which seem scary actually turn out very normal. That does not mean that she shouldn't be discussing them with her doctor. Just make sure that she gets satisfactory answers to her complaints.

It is nice that you are so concerned for your mom. I think the best thing to do is take her to the doctor and have her checked out. Describe her symptoms to her doctor and he will help her.
I had a similar reaction to some back medication I was on, weak,no appetite,totally blah!. Turned out I was allergic to it. My wife felt weak the way your describing, turned out to be high blood pressure, and cholesterol. We'll pray the Doc finds the culprit....Diabetes may be having an impact also. Good luck!
