the causes: well, when you have too many red blood cells they die off (and when they get old.) Anyway, they get filtered out by your kidneys, but they contain bilirubin, and that is yellow.
So, if you were at a high altitude and then came back down you would have created an excess of red blood cells.
THis is the same reason that babies get jaundice.
