It's more based on 50 or over adults. It would be very rare for little kids to get rectal cancer. You might be referring to hemorrhoids.

I think that it is entirely possible, my mother is only 35 and she has rectal cancer. However, it is most common in women around the age of 40-50. If you have any concerns about it then I would ask a doctor. Before my mother was actually diagnosed with cancer, she had gone to doctors for around a year. One doctor sent her home with the flu and then that very night it got so bad she had to go to the E.R. I hope this somewhat answers your question.

It would be infinitely more likely for a young person to have a bad case of internal or external hemorrhoids rather than rectal cancer which would be extremely rare at a young age. The average person who had never had hemorrhoids before would be unable to distinguish internal hemorrhoids from rectal cancer unless they had seen a Dr for a proper evaluation. The symptoms would be quite similar also with pain, bleeding, swelling and terrible discomfort in the lower colon and anus.

The fast food diet commonly eaten by most American young people is an invitation to chronic constipation, hemorrhoids and colon problems in general. Add more fiber to your daily diet by eating raisins, apples, prunes and whole grain cereals along with adding lots of water & fluids to your diet. You could also use a product like Fibersure or Benefiber to make sure to get enough fiber to get your bowels working properly again. Go to the Dr to get evaluated for a proper diagnosis but I'd bet money that your problem is diet related to having internal hemorrhoids and not rectal cancer.
