Question: I dont have acne but what causes it?

Answers: I dont have acne but what causes it?

Clogged pores and sometimes a disturbance in a person bodily functions.

Extra oil that your body produces in the pores on your face.

your skin produces a oil called sebum oil. this makes sure that your skin stays hydrated. sometimes there can be uneven amounts of and it can build up along with dirt in your pores. your pores get blocked up and this is called spots. acne is a more serious form of it and can be treated with cream and lotions and be prevented by washing morning and evening witha cleanser or with pure water! lucky you!

it is bacteria getting trapped with oil in your pores. If you wash your face with warm water or cleanser you can help prevent spots. if you have clear skin Don't use facemasks with clay in them, or toner, because they upset the oil balance and can lead to spots.

Acne is caused by overactive sebum glands that end up producing too much oil. (the androgen hormones are chiefly responsible for this.) In some people, their pores can't shed dead skin cells so easily, and the excess oil and the dead skin cells end up blocking the pore. Blocked pores that aren't inflamed are whiteheads and blackheads. If bacteria manages to get in, the pore becomes inflamed and turns into a red acne spot.

It's a myth that people who have acne are unclean or don't wash enough. It's a rather unkind notion, as it's mostly down to your hormones and a genetic predisposition towards it, neither of which can really be helped. (although treatments from the doctor can help, as can contraceptive pills for some women)

As others have said its a problem with the sebaceous glands & hair follicles. In addition to some hereditary predisposition, from Wikipedia:

It has also been suggested that there is a link between a diet high in refined sugars and other processed foods and acne. The theory is that rapidly digested carbohydrate food such as white bread and refined sugars produces an overload in metabolic glucose that is rapidly converted into the types of fat that can build up in sebaceous glands. According to this hypothesis, the startling absence of acne in non-westernized societies could be explained by the low glycemic index of these cultures' diets. Others have cited possible genetic reasons for there being no acne in these populations, but similar populations shifting to these diets do develop acne
