What is the best OTC treatment for psoriasis (is there one?)?!

Question: Is there an over the counter cure for psoriasis? I hate steroids. Nothing my dermatologist gives me works, I feel like she's experimenting on me...Please advise. Thank you.

Psoriasis is difficult to treat and most OTC products just do not work. FIrst of all, after a shower or bath, be sure you use a moisturizer because hot water will cause your psoriasis to get worse. While you may not want to use a steroid, it may be the only thing that will work for you. Try OTC hydrocortisone cream. This is OK to use for awhile. If it helps, let your doctor know. They can prescribe a stronger strength than what you can get OTC. I've had psoriasis for years, and it is so frustrating. Also, sometimes sunlight for a short time (15 min.) once a day can help also. Good luck.
