Is it safe to take cimetidine and famotidine together?!
Question: Well, not exactly together but it may seem that way.
I ate so much today. I know I should have stopped at one point, but I condinued anyway. About 2 hrs. later after I had stopped eating, I got real bad gas and diahrrea. I took famotidine, 10mg. It stopped the gas and diahrrea, but gave me heartburn. About two hours later, I took 200mg of cimetidine. The heartburn is less painful now. Is this okay? Aren't they both acid reducers?

Both of these are products for reflux and, peptic ulcers. I don't see anything wrong with it but, an overdose like you took would maybe give you an upset stomach. You shouldn't mix drugs of any kind without the doctors knowledge.
