Question: I need to write my own "To be, or not to be" poem/speech for English class, the topic of "To inject, or not to inject", as in injecting insulin for a diabetic. I'm stuck and need help! Sounds like an interesting project! Here's what I would recommend:

Hamlet was wrestling with life and death in his speech. Is "your" Hamlet also wrestling with that? To inject=life, not to inject=death? Or is he wrestling with something less intense or more surface, say the sharp pain of the needle, how cold and fierce it looks, etc? Don't let the words dictate the poem. Figure out what you want to say and then carve the words.

Next, brainstorm what it means to inject. What does receiving the insulin feel like, what does insulin shock feel like--is it like going to sleep, perchance to dream?--write down any verbs, action words, feeling words, and descriptors you can associate with the act of taking insulin.

At that point, you'll probably have a good idea of what to say.

Glucose by any other name would taste as sweet.
