My brother has a temperature of 104 degrees?!
Question: my brother says he feels cold, coughs alot, and says his legs and back hurts. Could this be symptoms of something dangerous? My mom and been putting a wet towel to his head to help out with the fever but it just won't go down. Any idea's on what to do in a situation like this? Is there another option beside seeing a doctor?

DO NOT FOOL AROUND W/ THIS HIGH A TEMPERATURE!
Get to the Emergency Room ASAP! Your brother may go into anaphalctic shock, and may need further medical attention! I kid you not on this!!!!
While you are on your way to the ER, keep him quiet, conscience (keep talking w/ him, making sure he doesn't seize (start having seizures), and keep a cool cloth on his head to prevent him from burning up!
Your brother's body is trying to burn up whatever is attacking his body, and in the process, will literally cook his brain!

This child has a very high fever. He needs to go to the emergency room. Not kidding.
That is a very high fever. Ibuprofen or Tylenol can help reduce fevers, but I would recommend a doctor or the ER tonight with that kind of a fever and symptoms.
umm you need to take him to the ER now...that could be dangerous
That's a very high fever; bathing his limbs ONE AT A TIME with tepid water and then drying them may help bring his temperature down. He should be able to take Tylenol with no problem. 104 is not as big a deal for young kids as it would be for an adult, but it's still high.
If his temp goes up AT ALL, get him to the ER; call 911 if necessary - that's what they exist for.

u need to bring his temperature down by wet towel sock in ice cold water,,also he needs medication for cough and fever...its good if he goes to doctor

A temperature that high is very hazardous to your brother's health. Give him some Tylenol and some Robitussin. If his fever doesn't respond to this treatment, or he doesn't seem to be sweating it out, than get him to the hospital immediately. The early stages of meningitis has the exact same symptoms and doctor's can prevent serious injury if they treat him in a reasonable amount of time. Watch for any rashes on his body.
He needs to be seen by a doctor-he could well have Meningitis.104 is serious.Any fever over 102 needs to be brought down within a few hours to prevent serious damage to the organs and brain.Mom needs to take him to the ER tonight.
