Question: My doctors told me a few weeks back that i have polio.I was very scared to post this question but here it is.I'm so afraid.What should i do.Is it painful.Im always reading about it!

In about 95 percent of polio cases, infection from the polio virus causes no symptoms or serious effects. In about 5 percent of cases, the polio virus manifests in a mild form (abortive polio) with flu-like symptoms, in a nonparalytic form (aseptic meningitis) or in a severe form called paralytic polio. People who have minor or nonparalytic forms recover completely.

I suppose I'm a little confused. I presume that you don't have paralytic polio, or you couldn't type your question. Other types of polio usually only last about two weeks, although some effects may last much longer. Are you SURE this is what you were told?
Don't worry. I've got the cutest furriest loveliest little friend that spits magic medicine when you pet him and squeeze him hard. He's like a magic medicinal hamster! I think I've got a crush on him. I play with him every night before bed.
I didn't know there was still polio around - did you have the polio medicine when you were younger?
