How accurate is testing for Cushing's?!
Question: My daughter is waiting for the results of tests she had done to find out whether she has Cushing's. I have read that sometimes different labs interperet the results differently, and that you can also get a false negative. Does anyone know how reliable the 24 hour urinary free cortisol test is and also the overnight dexamethasone test?
She has all the clinical manifestations of Cushing's but her previous doctor was reluctant to accept she may have the disease.

You need to ask an endocrinologist your questions. If you have gotten a confusing answer from your daughter's endocrinologist then one option would be to go to the Doctor's Lounge and ask the physicians there. Scroll down to the Endocrinology Topics Section and ask your questions.
