Waking up with bug bites, but cant find any bugs!?!

Question: For a couple of weeks now I have been getting mysterious bites. They are on my back, arms, legs, and now on my hands. I first thought bed bugs, but I have torn my bed and box spring apart and can't find anything ( not to mention my couch too) I have looked in the middle of the night, and before dawn. A few of these bites are as big a 3 or 4 in in diameter, extremely itchy, ansome have a scab in the middle but not all. THe ones on my legs have turned to just scabs now. I also work at a Dog grooming shop, so I thought fleas, but nothing is on my dog, and I tend to get bit more on the weekend when I am off work. What else could this be???

Every one is right these types of bugs are extremely hard to see, but it does sound like it may be the culprit!!! Sometimes just cleaning is not enough!! To jump start the process - go get a bug bomb and fumigate your whole apartment/house! Make sure to take any food or pets out of the home for the required amount of time then air everything out when you get back!! Wash all food untensils ( pots, dishes, etc. ) and all bedding in the hottest possible water!! Follow it all up a couple of days later with insecticide sprays made for mattresses and bedding and furniture (remember to lift your mattress and sofa cushions to spray the undersides) that can be purchased at any drug store!! All your clothing and curtains must also be washed in very hot water!! This all needs to be done together in a timely fashion so that one item will not reinfect another!! Perhaps take your dog to the vet during the bug bombing and have him dipped to rid him of any possible pests!! I know it is a pain and a real job but it is the only way to rid yourself of these things!!! It could also be a type of lice so have someone you trust look at your scalp with a magnifying glass!! If you find anything buy a product like Rid and follow the directions otherwise you will reinfest your own apartment! Don't fret this can happen to even the cleanest of people!! All you have to do is brush up against someone!! Once you have bombed and washed everything; vacuum good - carpets and furniture - and then dispose of the vacuum bag!! Think of it as spring cleaning!! Good Luck!!!!

Btw bed bugs can live in anything! in almost any type of furniture and they won't come out when you look for them and they are really small. as for what else it could be im sorry i do not know of a bug that makes bites those big!

could be bed bugs.
come out at night and suck your blood, then go back to hiding in the creases under your bed sheets.Seriously,a 5 star hotel was recently sue for having bed bugs,so they arent exactly uncommon.
they are very tiny and easy to miss,so look hard.

It could still be either one of these things. Have you vacuumed the bed or used products that kill bed bugs or fleas. These bugs are so small that you cant see them with the naked eye.

It is bed bugs. The same thing happened to me about 6 months ago. I took all of my sheets and pillow cases off my bed and washed them. I sprayed Febreeze all over my bed after vaccuming the top of my bed (sounds wierd but I wanted to make sure to get rid of anything and everything). After I did all of that I vaccumed my room.
I put clear nail polish on the bites because they would itch really bad if I didn't. Finally, it went away after cleaning and eliminating any possibilities in my bedroom.
I know it is annoying, but if you do what I did, it will go away. Get some anti-itch cream from the drugstore if the nail polish doesn't quite do the trick.
Good Luck!!
