How do I get my a1c back under 7????!


Question: 1. eat well balanced very low carb food plan at regularly scheduled times of the day.

2. take meds at regularly scheduled times of the day.

3. WALK, WALK, WALK do sufficient movement during each and every day to have an hours worth of sweaty movement! Walk as far and fast as you can each and every day for an hour!! Do not miss a day.

4. Be diligent in checking your glucose levels.

5. Get the same amount of sleep every day. Go to bed at the same hour and get up at the same hour. No Sundays off on this or the walking.

Those are the rules I have glued to my fridge!! I have followed them rather religiously for 10 years. My last A1c was 5.5!!! Yippee!! It's working!!

It will work for you also if you just do it!! Good luck!!

Talk to your healthcare provider. You might need to look at your diet or if you are on medication, they might need to be increased.

Remember you HbA1c is a 90 day average. So your daily glucose readings are your spot guide on how well you discipline is for each day and meals.

Some form of daily aerobic exercise is the single biggest influence for reduce the 90 day average, Next is taking your medications as prescribed by your doctor. Then diet that maintains glucose at a manageable level for each day controlled by each meal.

Having stated all that then is discipline with your routine. If your daily glucose reading are not to you liking then consult your doctor on the next step.

Test frequently to find out where in your day you experience any peaks. Knowing this, you'll be able to do the necessary adjustments to your regime. Keep a tight control over two weeks and check your A1c again.
