Sinus relief?!

Question: Can anyone help me find some relief from my congestion. I have tried 3 different kinds of medication, been put on a antibiotic and anphetimein (spelling?) and nothing has worked. I have to go back to the dr but until then any suggestions? I was diagnosed with sinusitus. Thanks so much.

The only things that really helped me was when my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.
you need

distilled water
sea salt
liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.
in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.
add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix.
using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.
Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy.
The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don't get rid of them all.
Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.
Then do it once a week for maintenance.
There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.
I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore.
best wishes

Over the counter stuff is a joke if that is what u are taking. I currently take Allegra-D and it works for me but you need a prescription to get that kinda of stuff. Talk to your Dr. and get he/she to get you some type of prescribed med.

Horseradish, Chinese mustard, hot peppers, anything that will start you flowing. Didn't you have a decongestant prescribed?

Sometimes just some saline squirted up into your nostrils can help, they sell one now that sprays a fine spray.
Drinking warm fluids, putting heat over the sinuses[be careful not to burn yourself], even a warm shower with the bathroom door closed can give a little temporary relief.
-itis means inflamation of. Let your doctor advise you, but some meds can dry your nose out, and make it worse.
You might need different antibiotics, and prescription meds.

I'm well aware of what you have. I got sick 3 weeks and 3 days ago. It started off as a cold and after the 2nd week I ended up in the ER with a viral flu and sinus infection. They said I had sinusitis and each year I get sick this time of year. It's the dust/mold! It's horrible. I've tried everything too. I had to take all last week off. I had NO energy!!!!

Here is what I do to ease the pain:

Plants - add plants to your environment
Humidifiers - I have one for my bedroom
Hot showers for at least 15 minutes, block the door and don't let steam out! While in there drink as much water as you can. Also, use a sinus rinse twice a day, during your shower.
Before bed, sip theraflu and take 1 sudafed.
DO NOT USE HEATERS - USE BLANKETS
I know this is weird but open up your windows.
Use vik's vapor rub on chest after each shower - it helps.
Sleep as much as you can.
take flonase.
Sinus headache meds
Vitamins at bed.

This won't make it go away but does help let you have a life!

oddly enough i have been going through the exact same thing. i have been miserable. sore throat and sinus infection so bad that i cannot breathe and nothing comes out when i blow my nose. it feels like your head is completely clogged. if these are your symptoms the best thing that knocks the inflammation right out is a methylprednisone pack. this is the only thing that has ever done the trick for me. you take 6 pills on day 1, 5 on day 2, 4 on day 3, etc. for 6 days. also the nasonex spray helps too because it is kind of like the same thing. sometimes the cheap little red generic nasal decongestant pills help too from the drug store or dollar general. if you can make some real hot chicken soup with garlic and take a hot steam shower it will give you temporary relief. hope this helps.
