I'm having a huge problem involving abscesses and I am afraid to go to the D!
Question: Okay, so I just went & had an abscess opened up at the ER (after my reg.Dr "Dr #1" told me it was folliculitis-which is an infected hair follicle) so then while I was at the ER, they did a culture and told me to come back monday, but I already had an appt on monday with a new Dr, "Dr #2" (b/c I'm pi$$ed at Dr#1) & so Dr #2 removed the packing, & then cut my other abscess open. Dr #2 was so rough I almost punched him in the head. He was acting like I lied when I said it was MRSA(called ER for results) & that this is my 2nd outbreak of MRSA in an abscess (the 1st time Dr #1 told me it was folliculitis then too) So anyways, I am scared to death to go back because I know he will hurt me because he is mean and rough. I dont trust Dr #1 or #2 (partners). Will another Dr (at a different practice) finish another's dirty work? Can I request to be put under before I let him touch me? Should I just never go back & hope it resolves on its own? I am confident I can remove the packing myself.HELP!

Forget both doctors... I would switch!
as for the abcesses... I know EXACTLY what it is you have... I went thru the same crap... email me.
I believe that you may have a condition called Hidradenitis Supprativa. It is re-occurring boils/ cysts/abscesses that are often misdiagnosed as ingrown hairs, herpes, being unclean or over weight and folliculitis. This is a newly diagnosed skin condition , but there is a lot of info out there if you are looking.
