I have Psoriasis On my Scalp???!

Question: I have psoriasis on my scalp (I have been clinically diagnosed with it). I have shampoo and nasty cream to put on it, and they both help, but I was wondering if anybody has anything that I can do in the meantime... I have tried hot oil, but it doesn't seem to help.

People with this issue, please give me your tips, cuz my head is itchin up a storm, and I can't deal with the scales and blood!

Try Dermarest Scalp treament and Dernarest Skin Treatment!! You can get it through your drug store without prescription!! It really helps relieve the itching!!!!!!! And after using it a couple of times (and letting it stay on overnight) the flakes will just comb right out of your hair and you will be able to wash your hair the next morning and be good to go all day!! You will have to use it every night for effective relief and you should make sure to ask your pharmicist if it is alright to use this product with the stuff the doctor prescribed. Dermarest is not oily or greasy andit does not smell bad like so many of the psoriasis products. If it is psoriasis then know that this skin condition is managable but it is not curable!! It is a nuisance but it is not dangerous unless you scratch it untill it bleeds and it becomes infected!! if the itch gets really bad a nice hot bath helps!! Try putting dermarest on it and wearing a bandanna at night to keep you from scratching!! It will burn if your skin is raw ( You may try not to scratch it long enough for it to heal enough so that the first time you use it it won't be so bad) but if you can stand it - you will have great relief in 24 hours from the itching. I use it every day and a little goes a long way!! I sometimes use the skin treatment in my hair instead of the scalp treatment cause it feels soooo good!!! Do some research at The National Psoriasis Foundation web site!! Good Luck!!!

I used to have this problem. Oil worked sometimes but not always. Vinegar also helped a bit. Mine finally just went away after 5 years. It's horrible and hope it gets better for you :/

I have psoriasis and I put a medicaid shampoo that you find in a walmart I do not remember the name but it looks like tar and I wash it with that one every other night and it cleans it so well. The other nights I use a regular shampoo. It helps with the itch and the actual problems

TRY TO USE A MINTY KIND OF SHAMPOO AND WASH YOUR HAIR W/ XTRA WARM WATER. ITS HELP THE ITCHY PART.

I use Coco-scalp when my psoriasis gets hideously bad on head, over the last week I've started using coconut oil, I've been putting it the bath and soaking in it and also applying it to my body as a moisturiser, I have seen a definite improvement in my skin and I believe its helping with the psoriasis on my scalp as I haven't made my scalp bleed from scratching for a while. Hope this helps.
