Aside from ara-c, what other drugs are currently used for leukemia?!
Question: During my first treatment 2 other chemos was used, VP-16, and I dont remember the name of the other. All my other treatments that year were ara-c only. Interleukin II is a med used to try to prevent relapse. I signed up for a study using that med, but was randomized into the control group that did not receive the med.
The second time around I used ara-c combined with chloro.. something.. hang on.. can never remember the name, will try to look it up and post later. Then with my transplant I used irradiation (massive full body radiation) with fludarabine.
Gleevec is used for some of the chronic types to control the leukemia (older patients who most frequently get chronic cant hadnle the harsh treatment for remission and possible cure.
I dont know about all the drugs used in the other types
