What makes you allergic to animals, plants, etc.?!

Question: You have chemicals in your body called histamines. These chemicals are resposible for searching the body for any foreign material and casuing a reaction so that your bodys naturak defense cells will fight them off. When you are allergic your body's histamine is over reacting to a harmless substance. Allergens have a cumulative effect meaning that the more exposure you have to them the more you will react. Some people develop allergies early in life and these are generally either inherited, meaning you have a genetic suceptability to certain allergens, or they are developed from being exposed frequently to the allergens. As adults you can also suddnely develop allergies but this is less understood. For some reason your histamines get confused when you are exposed to allergens and over-react even if you have had exposure to the allergen all of your life. Allergy shots are given to slowly intoduce the allergen in very small doses and gradually increase them so your body recognizes it as unharmful. The problem with these is that people get the shots but then also get exposure inthe environement which increases the amount in the system so they never get that slow adjustment. Getting allergy shots for dog dander for example is not going to be effective if you have a dof in your home because you are not only geting the small amount inthe shot but also the large amount from sleeping with your dog. Antihistamines that are in allergy medicine work by blocking the histamine from doing its job which decreases the reaction. Having allergies is difficult because unless you have the time to watch the environemtnal levels and virtually eliminate the amount of exposure to the allergen that affects you, you are going to have the reaction forever.

im pretty sure your born with it

chemical imbalaces, limited early exposure, sensitive glands, usually chemical sensitivities; like with pet dander, the chemicals are contentious with particular people's eyes and skin.

i think that i know how it happens for a food allergy. A food is mistaken as a germ in your body so whenever you eat the food your body rejects it. (I am not entirely sure about this.)

I don't know didn't get any till I hit 40 and even the shots for 5yrs didn't work..

hairs or scents overstimulating the histimines in the nose and throat

Anything chemical related or the fact you had those family born genes will make you allergic.
