Beef recalled from 2006??!
Question: whats the story with the meat being recalled from 2006? Dont you think everybody already ate it from back then?? What are the risks if you did eat it?

What happens is that Bigger meat companies sell to smaller companies , who then either cut, grind or freeze the meat. Then depending on who they sell that to and if they get rid of it or froze it. Even if meat has ecoli on it... proper cooking will kill all the bacteria. They are going as far back as they can trace where the beginning source was probable for the contamination. At the end of shifts , they have rework and trimmings from the day that they throw in the next days beggining grind. If it wasnt noticed that it was being improperly handled... each time the rework is introduced into the machine it will effect the ENTIRE days *****.. and then it needs to be tracked to see where and when it was sold. and If the person who bought it , doesnt keep good records it makes it harder to trace backwards. So to be safe they include the whole LOT production and as far back as it traces so they can be fully shure to get that " POSSIBILY' affected meat out of commerece.
There are many risks associated with eating bad e.coli laden meat. Usually its bloody diahrerra and crampling, if left untreated it can cause severe kidney damage and even death.
There are some larger places that might still have some of this beef frozen. At this time I wouldn't worry about it as it has been removed from the public.

They said there was little to no risk. They took action based on the animal abuse reports. The recall hurts that company financially most of all. Sort of a you don't follow the rules, you're done... The meat is not tainted, and more than half of it's probably already been consumed.
