Would you recommend using an OTC wart freezing kit? Why or why not?!

Question: I went to the doctor's to ask her what a big bump on my finger was, and she told me it was a bitten cuticle that turned into a wart. I immediately went to the pharmacy and bought something to get rid of it, but I can't help but think it seems unsafe. The packaging says the product can cause blindness (I don't get how it can cause blindness), and that if you leave the freezing applicator on too long you'll require medical attention. Would you recommend using this product (it's Dr. Scholl's Freeze Away), or should I get my money back and leave the job to a trusted professional? Has anyone had success using this product? Any bad experiences? Thanks!

Freezing a wart is pretty simple, but if u are uncomfortable then see the doc. I would ask a friend to assist u if you are doing it yourself. Its basically the effect someone would get if they got freezer burnt. It shoots a spray , at the wart. The area will be tender and usually a little red. Thats because it just killed the top layers of skin... the area where the wart was dosnt hurt... its usualy the area right around the wart that is still sennsitive. For a complete regimen, ( usually one freeze will not be enough) I would do a freeze once a month for 2-3 months. Everyday I would apply some liquid and keep covered with a square inch of duct tape... so it is CONSTANTLY getting battled, which doesnt leave and opputrunity to REGROW. think of a wart like a carrot in the ground.. even though u killed top layers.. that bottom of the root is still down there... if left alone it wll regrow. A strict regimen... and daily upkeep will ensure the wart will be gone within 3 months. sooner if properly cared for and no days are missed.

I dont think your going to hurt or harm yourself if you try it. Unless you stick it in your eyes intentionally. It also depends on how big the wart is. If your that nervous though, just go to a dermatologist and have it frozen off/removed.

i have used one before and it worked perfectly fine I had no problems with it

ummm... put this white liquid on your wart then pick it off

also have your foot docter perscirbe pills for it... they work wonderfully

My husbands dermatologist told him to use the Dr Scholl's Freeze Away. He said it works just like the he uses in the office and it's safe. We got some, it worked really well and was easy to use. Some warts require more than one treatment.
