What can I use at the first sign of a fever blister?!

Question: I usually use a tea tree tincture which helps somewhat, but I really want to zap it this time before it even thinks of developing. Preferably natural / home remedies please. Thanks.

Abreva does not work, trust me. It helps a bit AFTER it's scabbed over, but not while it's still a blister. (Trust me, i get a LOT of fever blisters).
At the first sign, rub alcohol on it about once an hour. After it turns bubbly, get a needle (clean it with alcohol first) and a tissue and start poking GENTLY til a bit of the pus comes out, and blot every time you see the pus, because if you let it run to another part of you lip, it will spread. Then after you drain it a good bit, get pure vanilla extract (imitation works fine too) and rub it on there with a clean Qtip. After it blistery rub vanilla extract on it about every 30 minutes to an hour or whenever it starts hurting. Aspirin makes a bit of the redness and swelling go down. When you go to sleep at night, get some Neutrogena Skin Clearing oil-free concealer. It's a little green stick of concealer which dries out pimples but it's AWESOME for drying out fever blisters faster. Gob it on and let it dry for about an hour before you go to bed. Hope this helps.

I use peroxide as soon as I feel the soreness start.
