Yes, there is an asthmatic induced cough, especially when you are exposed to cold temperatures.

Because of the irritation to lung lung tissue associated with asthma, the air has trouble entering and exiting your lungs. Your body's natural respose is to cough, which increases the air pressure in your lungs forcing the air to move.

Yeah, I have sports induced and when it was really bad I would cough, so yes

i live in detroit and have the same problem

Absolutely! Asthma causes constriction of the airways so air exchange in the lungs is impaired. You are not getting the oxygen your body and brain need. You need to go to the ER ASAP. Asthma can kill!

Asthmatics react to changes in weather. Cold weather or windy weather can cause an asthma attack. If you are having a hard time breathing, you need to go to the EMERGENCY ROOM. The ER can give you a breathing treatment so you can breath more easily and oxygen to prevent any long term permanent damage to your body and brain. Don't take Asthma lightly, you need bronchial dilators in order to breath. Asthma can and often leads to COPD. Please get help for this NOW!

i have the same problem

it usually happens when I have a sore throat

Cough does not always indicate asthama, it could be a normal cough.
Asthamatic coughs are always accompanied by shortness of breath, sneezing, wheeezing and tightness of chest etc. Your cough may be a normal cough but it is better for you to consult a doctor at an earliest as Asthama can be cured at an early stage but it is always difficult to control it at an earlier stage...Furthermore avoid cold and spicy and chilly foods, fast foods etc ..
Asthama is an atopic disease i,e it is heredietary passed on generations..
A type of Asthma is DRUG INDUCED in which antibodies are formed against cell surface antigens that are cross-linked with drugs like pennicilin etc. This is followed by crosslinking of antibody to cells which are then targeted for destruction resulting in tissue damage. There is also accompanied by release of factors which cause assembly of lymphocytes and other imune cells like neutrophills, mast cells etc. From the mast cells histamine may be released which causes constriction of trachea and hence asthmatic symptoms..

I'm an asthmatic as well. When you're coughing your asthma is flaring up. Use your inhaler, or request Nasacort from your doctor.

Cigarette smoke is deadly with my asthma.

If you have atopic asthma, you may be allergic to things like house dust mite, cats, dogs, cockroaches etc.

Best thing to do would be to go for allergy testing in this case to determine if you suffer from atopic or non atopic asthma
