Sometimes the reading on those tests at a local store may be wrong.

If you are concern make an appointment with you doc and see what he has to say

There are many factors that would cause this
Anything from working out (even basic walking helps), not smoking, to cutting back on your salt/caffeine intake.

For your information, if the bottom number (the diastolic) is higher, that's actually more cause of a concern than if the top number (the systolic) is higher.

First of all, those machines in local stores don't always give accurate results. You should count your own heart beat for a full minute. Normal heart beats for adults at rest is between 60-100 BPM. It can be lower in athletes, so yours is fine.

A good, well-calibrated sphygmomanometer is essential for an accurate blood pressure reading. Digital ones will do too, if you plan to take BP readings at home.

Normal resting blood pressure for most adults averages 120/80 mmHg.

You haven't mentioned your exact BP reading in your question, so I really can't say whether it's within the normal range or not. But I do hope that everything's fine and fit for you.

Blood pressures can vary widely even within the span of an hour or so, so if the top number was a little elevated I wouldn't read too much into it.
