Cigarette smokers...non smokers as well?!

Question: I am doing a speech/presentation about cigarette smoking have been trying to make it as relevant as possible so I won't offend anyone who does smoke. I have to talk about the pros and cons of smoking. I pretty much have the relevancy part down for the moment, but unfortunately I don't have enough information to last the presentation for a full 7 minutes. I was thinking of adding a video in there to kill some of the time. But I was wondering if u guys would be able to help me out by answering a few questions (that is if u don't mind me using it in my presentation)
1. How do you feel about smoking since you have started? (r u very comfortable or trying to quit)
2. How do u feel about people flicking cigarette butts out of cars and onto streets in general?
3. Do u believe that there is a healthier way to smoke?

Thanks guys! Appreciate it a great deal!

I smoke. I think it's disgusting and nasty, but I enjoy it nonetheless. I myself feel I should quit, but I don't want to.

Butts belong in the garbage. I think that if there isn't a garbage can somewhere close every smoker should put their cigarette out and pocket the butt until they see a garbage can. This is what I do.

There isn't a healthier way to smoke. Smoking less would be healthier, and not smoking at all would be the healthiest.

You can use this in your presentation if you want to/ if it's relevant.
Now... I think I'm going to step outside and have a smoke!

Since I started I enjoyed the first few years, since then I have struggled like hell to quit and I cannot do it. I have tried about 7 times with patches but havent managed it yet.

I flick cig butts out of the window so I cant comment!

No. There is no healthier way it should be banned so future generations will not start and think it is acceptable

1. I enjoy it, its a good excuse to take a break and go outside
2. I don't like it when other flick their cigaretts...i prefer to drop mine or aim it at a drain
3.Yes...smoke out of a Hooka.

4.I believe in population control.

1. I wish I could quit and have been trying, but to be honest, don't we all have at least one bad vice, this is mine.
2. I know that if a cop sees you doing in it Las Vegas (that is where I live) that he will cite you and then make you pick it back up.
3. I don't believe that "healthy" and "smoking" don't go together.

1. i live a very stressful life and i smoke a cigarette to get away from the stresses of family and work. i have no intentions of quitting until i have a kid
2. i am strongly against it because it will cause new laws such as no smoking in cars to take effect. also im from texas and you dont mess with texas
3. cancer is cancer. i just hope i die by exploding oxygen tank like my grandfather did when he had lung cancer and emphysemia and he caught fire while letting his cigarette burn in his sleep

1. I'm comfortable smoking. I have tried to quit, but I don't really have the motivation right now, and I know I'm not ready to.
2. I don't care. It's a cigarette butt, not 10lbs of poop.
3. No.

If you need more, you could mention the investigation the WHO did on second hand smoking, where they found that there was no evidence to suggest it might cause cancer, but could actually be good for you.
Also, you could mention that hypertention and gingervitus are less common in smokers, and that red blood cells from cigarette smokers contain more glutathione and catalase and protect lung endothelial cells against O2 metabolites better than RBCs from nonsmokers.

As for the dangerous chemicals in cigarettes, this might teach you something you didn't know: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/7...

(I'm not "for" smoking, but I know you will have plenty of "against" facts, and I wanted to help you balance it.)

i think people should not flick their buts out of windows because it pollutes the earth and one day cause us all to die ,it also makes the earth seen really dirty.
and yes i believe there may be a healthier way to smoke, like without all the chemicals we put into them and that could help us not to ruin our lungs as bad or as quickly.

1. How do you feel about smoking since you have started? (r u very comfortable or trying to quit)

A. I've been smoking since I was 16 and am now 61. I'm very comfortable with smoking and will probably not quit.

2. How do u feel about people flicking cigarette butts out of cars and onto streets in general?

A. I don't like people who litter but I can tell you this...there are far less cigarette butts out there than there are empty McDonald's, Wendy's, Dunkin' Donuts bags or food that is half eaten and beer bottles, plastics and cans which can harm animals and cause an unsightly mess! I know this because I walk my dog daily on a street which is perfect for throwing things out a car window!

3. Do u believe that there is a healthier way to smoke?

A. If there is, it would probably lie in tobacco which has no additives. I don't smoke manufactured cigarettes anymore. I smoke additive-free tobacco which I roll myself.

1.At first it was bc everyone else did it. Now I wish I had never started.I Dont care what people think of me as smoker, I dont like the way it gets into eveything and my kids smell like smoke.2. It doesnt bother me unless it happens in my yard. 3. I dont know,I've never thought about it.Either you smoke or you dont.People dont talk about it maybe being healthier.
